Energy executive Ed Ireland was selected as Executive Director to lead the Barnett Shale Energy Education Council, which was founded by seven of the leading energy companies operating in the Barnett Shale that are dedicated to promoting energy education and best practices as it relates to oil and gas leasing, drilling, production, transportation and marketing in the Barnett Shale.

Ireland has held several executive management positions including president of an oil and gas exploration and production company, founder and president of a natural gas marketing and pipeline company.
